ABOUT COACH PAUL

Paul Aanonson grew up in Iowa as a four sport athlete and senior captain of the football, basketball, track and baseball teams for Ballard High School. He was an All-State wide receiver, long jump State Champion and was named a three time All-District baseball in-fielder and All-Conference basketball guard.

Following high school, Aanonson was a two year starter at wide receiver and return specialist for the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits. He earned FCS All-American honors as a return specialist and the Adam Vinatieri special team's player of the year award, while racking up four school records. He led the nation his senior year in punt return yards/game and yards/season (all NCAA Div. I), helping SDSU to their first conference title in 42 years. He finished his senior year an NFL prospect, running a 4.38 sec. 40 yard dash, but missed his opportunity due to previous shoulder surgeries.

Aanonson graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelors in Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition and Business. He then received a Master’s in Sport Administration from The University of Northern Colorado. He is certified with Functional Movement Systems and has held his NSCA CSCS certification for the last 16 years.
